What to do after an IELTS practice assessment
A result is useful when it leads to a specific change in your next attempt.
Review an error before repeating a test
For reading and listening, compare your selected answer with the explanation. Identify whether you misunderstood the evidence, missed a restriction or entered the answer incorrectly. Write down the reason before you retry.
Improve one paragraph at a time
For writing, pick one paragraph and check whether it answers the assigned question. Underline the main claim, the explanation and a concrete example. If a sentence does not support the point, revise or remove it.
Do not accept an AI rewrite automatically. Check that it preserves your opinion and that any quoted error actually appears in your response.
Use speaking recordings for self-review
Replay your response and note places where you stop, repeat yourself or lose the question. Try the same prompt again using brief notes rather than a memorised script. Our assessment does not provide pronunciation or fluency scores.
Keep separate attempts
Save each completed assessment so you can compare attempts by date. Repeating familiar questions can reflect memory as well as learning, so use fresh official practice material before drawing conclusions about exam readiness.
